5 artisans and owners of ornamental plant gardens in Nghe An were honored nationwide.

(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of January 30, the Provincial Ornamental Plants Association held a conference to summarize the association's work in 2015 and deploy tasks for 2016.

Attending the conference were representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province and a large number of officials and members of the Ornamental Plant Association at all levels.

In 2015, the Provincial Ornamental Plants Association developed 278 members from 8 organizations and units, bringing the total number of members in the province to 4,700 people. Associations at all levels promoted socialization well, regularly organized training courses, promptly oriented and developed flower and ornamental plant growing, beautiful ornamental animal raising, mini ornamental plant production suitable for the market, focused on developing family gardens, expanding services... Some associations have grasped the market situation, quickly developed businesses to bring in high income such as Hoang Mai, Tan Ky, Thai Hoa, Quynh Luu...

In addition, the work of transferring techniques, arranging and caring for ornamental plants in offices and welfare projects has developed strongly. Ornamental bird clubs are growing stronger, with thousands of households playing with ornamental birds and participating in bird competitions in the district and province.

Notably, at the end of 2015, Nghe An province had 5 delegates honored as typical bonsai garden owners in the country: Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong, Nguyen Trong Ha, Nguyen The Kinh, Hoang Que Hung and Ms. Nguyen Thi Tinh.

At the conference, the delegates at the association level enthusiastically discussed the good and bad aspects of the work in 2015. Accordingly, they frankly acknowledged the limitations such as the ornamental plant movement is not really uniform, the awareness of the people as well as members about the ecological economy is still low, the ornamental plant economy still lacks strategic planning...

In order for ornamental plants to develop further in the coming time, in 2016, the Provincial Ornamental Plants Association determined to focus on 4 areas: breeding and exploiting raw materials; ornamental plant production; ornamental plant services; designing, arranging and caring for ornamental plants for construction works, collectives, schools, etc.

On this occasion, many groups and individuals were honored to receive commemorative medals for the development of ornamental plants in Vietnam, awarded by the President of the Vietnam Ornamental Plants Association and the Nghe An Ornamental Plants Association.
