Merger of the Forest Protection Department and the Forestry Department

(Baonghean.vn) - The Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province has just issued Decision No. 04/2016 on the establishment of the Forest Protection Sub-Department by merging the Forest Protection Sub-Department and the Forestry Sub-Department into one.

Accordingly, the Forest Protection Sub-Department is an administrative organization under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, with the function of advising the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on specialized management of forest protection and development; assisting the Director of the Department in advising the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of specialized state management functions and organizing the enforcement of laws on forest protection and development in the province.

The Forest Protection Department has legal personality, its own seal and bank account, and its headquarters are located in Vinh City, Nghe An Province.

The leadership of the Sub-Department consists of the Sub-Department Head and no more than 2 Deputy Sub-Department Heads. The organizational structure includes 5 departments, district-level forest protection units, mobile forest protection teams, and forest fire prevention and control teams.

The decision takes effect from January 15, 2015.
