Russian TV channel accidentally reveals secrets about new weapons system

During a meeting on November 10 in Sochi on issues of the defense industry complex chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Channel 1 and NTV television channels, while filming Mr. Putin, accidentally skimmed through the presentation of the Status-6 system developed by the Rubin Central Marine Design Bureau along with some system features and a description of the launcher.

According to the released image, it is a long-range unmanned underwater vehicle, capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

These frames were later removed from the report posted on the websites of the above TV channels.

In his speech, President Putin mentioned the creation of weapons systems to counter the US deployment of missile defense systems, and Status-6 can be seen as one such system.

Speaking to Vedomosti newspaper, Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov admitted: "Indeed, some secret data was in the camera lens, so it was later removed. We hope this will not happen again."

Responding to a question about what measures had been taken regarding the incident, Mr. Peskov affirmed that "in the future there will be preventive measures so that it does not happen again"./.
