(Baonghean.vn) - On December 2, leading travel companies in Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with press agencies (Famtrip and Presstrip groups), continued to survey two more tourist attractions in Yen Thanh district: Duc Hoang Temple (Phuc Thanh commune) and Bao Nham stone church (Bao Thanh commune).
Duc Hoang Temple (Phuc Thanh Commune) is located in a 100-year-old ironwood forest, nearly 7 hectares wide. |
Duc Hoang Temple is located on a large, high land and still retains the original relic status, ensuring solemnity and antiquity. |
This is a cultural and spiritual work, built by the people in 1505 to worship the gods who have contributed to "Protecting the Nation and Protecting the People", with the central character being "Sat Hai Dai Vuong" Hoang Ta Thon, a general who made many great contributions in the resistance war against the invading Yuan-Mongol army in the 13th century.
The delegation visited Bao Nham Church - a Gothic architectural work built in 1888 in Bao Thanh commune, located next to National Highway 7A, about 50km north of Vinh City.
The church was built mainly from stone blocks quarried from Lam Son mountain (Thanh Hoa). The church is 37m high, 14m wide, and has a 28m high bell tower. On the tower are 3 bronze bells, the heaviest bell weighs 800kg, the second bell weighs 400kg, and the third bell weighs 180kg. |
The church is built mainly of stone blocks. |
Near the church is a rocky cliff with a cave - one of the beautiful landscapes of Bao Thanh commune. |
There are also 24 small stone towers, each 2.5m high. In front of the church are two elaborately carved stone lions. Bao Nham Stone Church is not only a place for spiritual activities of parishioners in the area but also a tourist attraction for hundreds of thousands of visitors from near and far.
