Thanh Hoa Traffic Police have just discovered and arrested a truck carrying more than 20 tons of rotten, decomposing dried squid from Quang Ngai to Hanoi for sale..

On January 19, information from the National Highway 1A Traffic Police Station, Thanh Hoa Provincial Traffic Police Department, said that it had just handed over 20.4 tons of rotten, smelly dried squid of unknown origin to the Market Management Department for handling according to its authority.

Previously, at about 9:30 p.m. on January 18, at km 380 on National Highway 1A, passing through Truong Lam commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province, the patrol team of National Highway 1A Traffic Police Station inspected a truck with license plate 75C - 046.99 driven by Mr. Tran Viet Dung (born in 1984, residing in Thua Thien Hue), for traffic violations.

Upon inspection, authorities discovered that the truck was carrying about 20.4 tons of dried squid without documents proving its origin, which was emitting a foul odor and in the process of decomposition.

The driver confessed that he was transporting the above goods from Quang Ngai to Hanoi for consumption.
