Reviewing preparations for the 17th Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 11, the Organizing Committee of the 17th Phu Dong Sports Festival of Nghe An province in 2015 held a meeting to review preparations for the organization of phase 2, the final round in Vinh city.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Chi, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 17th Provincial HKPĐ, requested members and related units to seriously carry out assigned tasks.

The 17th Nghe An Province Phu Dong Sports Festival was organized in 2 phases, including 8 events (Athletics, Table Tennis, Badminton, Shuttlecock, Chess, Football, Volleyball and Pole Pushing). Phase 1 was the qualifying round in 4 clusters of districts and towns from November 21, 2015 to December 8, 2015. Phase 2 was the final round in Vinh City, taking place from December 20, 2015 to December 24, 2015.

At the meeting, the Organizing Committee of the Phu Dong Sports Festival in Nghe An province evaluated the organization of phase 1 in 4 clusters, accordingly: The organization of the 4 units as cluster leaders (Anh Son, Thanh Chuong, Quynh Luu districts and Hoang Mai town) was well implemented.

Local authorities have paid attention to help and ensured the competition facilities. The organizing committees in the clusters strictly implemented the regulations of the Sports Festival Charter, as well as selected athletes with good achievements in the clusters to participate in the provincial final round.

The 17th Phu Dong Sports Festival, phase 1, took place in a very exciting and attractive atmosphere.

The Organizing Committee of the 17th Nghe An Province Phu Dong Sports Festival also criticized some school units in cluster 1 organized in Anh Son district and cluster 2 organized in Thai Hoa town for not participating in some collective competitions such as High School Soccer.

Reviewing the preparations for phase 2, the Organizing Committee of the 17th Nghe An Province Phu Dong Sports Festival listened to members and related units report on the results of the survey of competition facilities at the competition venues for 8 events; the management of the Phu Dong Sports Festival opening ceremony; professional work, referees; work to ensure the safety of food and accommodation for 1,400 athletes of 21 participating delegations...

Concluding the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi, Director of the Department of Education and Training, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 17th Nghe An Province Phu Dong Sports Festival, requested members and related units to actively prepare facilities and arrange human resources so that the second phase, the final round of the Nghe An Province Phu Dong Sports Festival, will be a great success; discover and nurture sports talents to participate in the 9th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2016 in Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces.
