Quarter 2/2016: Must complete handover of VTC Television Station to VOV

At the conference to deploy the 2016 tasks of VTC Corporation held on the afternoon of December 24, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son said that he will give strong direction to work with VTC to complete the handover and separation of VTC Digital Television Station to Voice of Vietnam (VOV) according to the latest direction of the Prime Minister.

The handover date is determined to be in the second quarter of 2016 at the latest. This is also determined to be VTC's main task next year along with continued restructuring and preparation for equitization.

According to VTC's summary report, the targets set by this unit all exceeded the plan and had high growth compared to 2014. Specifically, VTC's revenue reached 3,500 billion VND, an increase of 9% compared to 2014; profit reached 123 billion VND, an increase of 60%...

In 2015, VTC completed two important projects: the Television Security System (ViCAS) and the IP-based Television project... However, this unit still has some unfinished problems such as the slow separation of VTC station.

Besides the final separation of VTC station, in 2016, VTC Corporation is determined to increase growth in all three service segments: digital content, television services and telecommunications services with a revenue growth of 10% and profit growth of 26% compared to 2015.

VTC also plans to complete the equitization project and submit it to the Ministry of Information and Communications in the fourth quarter of 2016.../.
