(Baonghean.vn) - In the middle of the night, a fire suddenly broke out fiercely in the bedroom, burning both husband and wife to death.

On the afternoon of December 2nd, Lieutenant Colonel Phan Trung Tuyen – Deputy Head of Thai Hoa Town Police – stated that the PC45 Department (Nghe An Provincial Police) and Thai Hoa Town Police had established a council to examine the bodies and investigate the cause of death of the couple Pham Van Trung (born in 1978) and Le Thi Le Huyen (born in 1984), residing in Lam Son Hamlet, Quang Tien Ward (Thai Hoa Town).

Earlier, at around 5:30 a.m. on December 1st, some neighbors were surprised to see smoke billowing from the bedroom window of Mr. Trung's house and smelled a burning odor, so they rushed over. Thinking it was an electrical short circuit and a fire, they quickly cut off the power and broke down the door to find Mr. Trung, his whole body charred black, trying to crawl from the bedroom to the front door.

Neighbors and relatives were shocked by what happened to Trung and Huyen.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam (one of the people present at the scene) said: "When we arrived, the fire was still burning inside the bedroom of Mr. Trung and his wife, and smoke filled the entire house. When everyone got inside, they found Ms. Le Thi Le Huyen (born in 1984, Mr. Trung's wife) completely burned, lying face down on the floor."

Meanwhile, Pham Le Anh (born in 2012, daughter of Mr. Trung and Ms. Huyen) was still sleeping in the next room, so she luckily escaped harm. "We quickly took Mr. Trung to the hospital for emergency treatment, while some others stayed to put out the fire and notify the local authorities," Mr. Nam said.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Tuyen, at the scene, the police seized a burnt-out 20-liter plastic gasoline can. The bedding, pillows, and other items in the couple's bedroom were completely burned. "The initial cause of Ms. Huyen's death is believed to be gasoline burns. The exact cause of death is still under investigation," Lieutenant Colonel Tuyen stated.

Mr. Trung and Ms. Huyen have been married for over 5 years and have a nearly 3-year-old daughter. Mr. Trung is currently a bus driver, while Ms. Huyen works as an insurance agent in Thai Hoa town.

By the morning of December 2nd, the body of Ms. Le Thi Le Huyen (Mr. Trung's wife) had been transported to Thanh Hoa for cremation. Mr. Trung also passed away after nearly a day of emergency treatment at the National Burn Institute.
