Grenade found in package at airport
Through security screening, officers working at Phu Bai airport (Thua Thien - Hue) discovered a grenade in an express delivery package.
At 8:30 a.m. on March 15, before flight VN 1540 Hue - Hanoi took off, through security screening, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa - an employee of Phu Bai Airport discovered an object suspected to be a grenade in an orange bag.

After discovering the incident, security forces moved the bag to the airport's bomb disposal bunker and notified the authorities to handle the situation.
Mr. Le Quoc Cuong - Head of Aviation Security Department of Phu Bai International Airport said: "Through initial examination, the engineering force of the Provincial Military Command determined that the discovered object was a grenade."

According to Mr. Cuong, the incident did not affect flights during the day. Flight VN 1540 Hue - Hanoi still took off normally without affecting passengers.
The grenade was packed in a small box. After the customer requested it, the Dong Ha Post Office (Quang Tri) staff transferred it to Thua Thien - Hue Post Office to be transported to Hanoi by air.
At 12 o'clock the same day, the grenade was handed over to the military. According to the provided image, the grenade was new, still had the pin, was green in color and had a serial number.
