Japan provides more than 5,000 billion VND in ODA capital to Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) – Funding from the Japanese Government and international organizations has contributed to promoting the socio-economic development of Nghe An province, especially in the agricultural sector.
According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, up to now, Nghe An province has 44 projects funded by Japan with a total investment of more than 6,172 billion VND. Of which, ODA capital funded by the Japanese Government is more than 5,070 billion VND; counterpart capital from Vietnam is nearly 1,102 billion VND.

Notable projects include: Technical cooperation on agricultural development planning; renovating the irrigation system in Northern Nghe An; Project on diversifying livelihoods based on heritage tourism in agricultural and fishing villages.
However, in the field of investment by Japanese FDI enterprises, currently in the province there are only two Japanese enterprises operating effectively: Yabashi Limestone Mining Company in Quy Hop and MLB Tenergy Company Limited specializing in garment export in Yen Thanh.

Nghe An province identifies Japan as a leading important partner and is actively and proactively implementing cooperation and investment promotion programs with Japan, especially in the bilateral cooperation program that has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Gifu province, Japan.
