In order to build Nghe An into a fairly developed province in the Northern region, creating the foundation to basically become an industrial province by 2020 with a synchronous and gradually modernized infrastructure system as set out in Resolution 26-NQ/TW dated July 30, 2013 of the Politburo, the construction and development of transport infrastructure is extremely urgent, especially key transport infrastructure such as: Seaports, airports, main roads, roads connecting economic zones, industrial parks, etc.

Implementing the resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress, the industry is currently developing a project to connect transport infrastructure to create conditions to attract investment and develop the socio-economy in the area. Focus on calling for investment, mobilizing all resources to build and ensure that by 2020, key transport projects in Nghe An province will be completed.

In the immediate future, for roads, the industry is calling for medium-term capital, urgently speeding up the progress of projects under construction on the Dong Hoi - Tan Xuan - Chau Thon route (which has been converted into National Highway 48D), Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard, the road connecting N5 to Hoa Son (Do Luong) - Tan Long (Tan Ky) phase I, Yen Xuan Bridge; Coordinating to speed up the progress of the construction of the Nghi Son - Vinh expressway section; building the expressway from Thanh Thuy border gate to Pac-xan town (Bolykhamxay - Laos), the expressway connecting Thanh Thuy border gate - Ho Chi Minh road - North-South expressway...

Transport sector is implementing investment preparation steps for projects: Nghi Son coastal road to Cua Lo phase I; road connecting N5 road to Hoa Son (Do Luong) - Tan Long (Tan Ky) phase II; Muong Xen - Ta Do - Khe Kien road; Road connecting National Highway 45 to National Highway 48; ... to meet the travel needs of people and the transportation of raw materials of investors.

For urban traffic works: Currently implementing 02 routes (Route 72 from Quan Bau intersection to Vinh bypass; 35m road from National Highway 46 to Lam River road) under the Medium-sized Urban Development Project - Vinh Urban Development Sub-project funded by the World Bank with a total approved investment of over 152.922 million USD. In addition, the Industry is also promoting steps to expand National Highway 1 through the inner city of Vinh from Quan Bau to Ben Thuy bridge to 6-8 lanes.

Constructing a number of rigid bridges across Lam River, such as Ben Thuy 3 Bridge (under PPP form), Do Cung Bridge (Thanh Chuong), Hieu Bridge and Dinh Bridge on Provincial Road 531, North-South railway overpass at the intersection of National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 534, overpass at the intersection of National Highway 46, National Highway 46B with National Highway 1 avoiding Vinh, railway overpass at the intersection with Road D4 in the Southeast Economic Zone, etc. Proposing to construct a number of routes avoiding urban sections, railway overpasses with provincial roads at key points, bridges replacing ferry terminals, bridges for people's use, etc.

For Vinh airport, (after adjusting the planning and upgrading Vinh airport to become an international airport), the industry continues to coordinate and attract investment to build and upgrade to meet international airport standards according to the approved planning, build 1 more runway, open more domestic and international routes...

Along with that, continue to upgrade and dredge Cua Lo port phase 2 to accommodate 30,000-ton ships conveniently, extend the port, invest in building berths 5 and 6, and a container port to increase loading and unloading capacity to 5 million tons/year by 2018. Build Dong Hoi port in Hoang Mai to serve Dong Hoi industrial park. Cua Lo deep-water ports and Dong Hoi port have been included in the Vietnam seaport planning with the main function as a general hub port; Dong Hoi port's main function is a specialized port for the 2,400 MW thermal power plant, cement industry and industrial parks in the Northwest of Nghe An. Upgrade and modernize the North-South railway section through Nghe An.

Promoting the tradition of "going first to pave the way", along with the attention of the Government, central ministries and branches, and the province, Nghe An Transport Industry will make every effort with the highest determination, striving to successfully complete the tasks of the Transport Industry as set out in the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress, term 2015-2020.
