470 hectares of winter corn on rice land in Anh Son achieved high productivity

(Baonghean.vn) - In the 2015 winter crop, Anh Son had 470 hectares of winter corn on double-rice land. Currently, farmers are harvesting in the fields, with an estimated yield of 5.5 tons/ha.

Winter corn on double-rice land is sown in Tuong Son, Tao Son, Duc Son... Currently, farmers are focusing on harvesting. According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dang - Head of the district's agricultural department, in the 2015 winter crop, Anh Son produced 3,200 hectares of corn, of which 470 hectares were on double-rice land. Corn yield on rice land is estimated at 55 quintals/ha. It is expected that in January, Anh Son district will direct people to finish harvesting the winter corn area on rice land to switch to spring rice production.
