(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 25th, the Committee for the Advancement of Women held a conference to evaluate the results of the 5-year implementation of the National Strategy for Gender Equality giai đoạn 2011-2015, to develop a plan for the period 2016-2020, and to summarize the results of activities for the advancement of women in 2015 and to implement tasks for 2016.

Representatives from departments, agencies, and localities throughout the province also attended.

Over the past five years, since the implementation of the National Strategy on Gender Equality, gender equality and the advancement of women in the province have seen many positive changes. This has increased women's participation in management and leadership positions, gradually reducing the gender gap in the political sphere. Simultaneously, it has reduced the gender gap in the economic, labor, and employment sectors, increased access for poor rural women and ethnic minority women, and gradually improved the quality of female human resources…

Delegates attending the conference

An assessment of the results of gender equality implementation across various fields shows that in most areas, we have achieved remarkable results, with many targets exceeding the set goals. For example, in five years, 179,000 jobs were created (the percentage of women was 42.6%, exceeding the target of 40%); the percentage of female National Assembly delegates increased by 3.07% compared to the previous term; the percentage of female cadres participating in the Provincial Party Committee increased by 2.93%, at the district level by 0.57%, and at the grassroots level by 2.91%...

Over the past five years, the percentage of female workers in vocational training reached 34% (exceeding the target by 113%).

However, gender equality efforts still face many difficulties due to gender stereotypes and the unclear integration of gender equality goals with socio-economic development goals. In the coming period, to enhance the status of women, it is necessary to strengthen the leadership, guidance, and supervision of Party committees and government at all levels regarding gender equality; promote information dissemination and education; invest in gender equality activities, ensuring the effective use of resources, prioritizing sectors, regions, and areas with gender inequality or high risk of gender inequality, rural areas, and mountainous regions…
