Stuffing drugs into ginger sacks to fool the authorities

(Baonghean.vn)- Phan Van Thao, residing in Que Son commune, Que Phong district, stuffed a large amount of drugs in a sack of ginger to transport from Laos to Vietnam.

At 5:50 p.m. on January 1, 2016, at Muong Phu Border Control Station, Thong Thu Commune, Que Phong District, the Drug Crime Prevention Force, Thong Thu Border Post, Nghe An Border Guard in coordination with the Provincial Customs discovered and arrested a subject for drug trafficking and transportation.

The arrested subject is Phan Van Thao (born in 1952), residing in Hamlet 2, Que Son Commune, Que Phong District, who was transporting drugs from Hua Phan (Laos) to Que Phong, Nghe An for sale. The seized evidence includes 1 heroin cake, 1.1 kg of opium, 2 phones, 1 motorbike, 1 ATM card and many other related documents.

Through initial questioning, Thao confessed that he took advantage of trading and transporting agricultural products from Laos to Vietnam to trade drugs. Therefore, he hid the amount of drugs in a bag of ginger for transport, but was discovered and arrested by the authorities.

Currently, the exhibits and subjects have completed their records and been handed over to the authorities for handling./.
