"Nguoi Hanoi" (released in 1996) is a three-episode TV series directed by Hoang Tich Chi and Doan Le. The film is set in the military district in the early years of renovation (late 1980s, early 1990s), revolving around the daily lives of soldiers returning from war. The couple Nam (Hong Son) and Thao (Le Khanh) are two of the central characters of the film. After experiencing comradeship and friendship during the war, returning to peacetime, they became husband and wife. However, the impact of the market economy caused their simple happiness to fall apart. The breakup of the Nam - Thao couple is considered a typical example of many Vietnamese civil servant families in the early years of renovation.
