Cardiovascular disease is the disease causing the highest mortality rate in the world and in Vietnam. |
According to research by the American Heart Association, every 2 seconds someone dies from cardiovascular disease, every 4 seconds someone has a heart attack, every 5 seconds someone has a stroke, and every 3 deaths, one person has cardiovascular disease.
Faced with the reality that cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in the world, a series of recommendations on prevention have been made, in which green tea has emerged as one of the most effective methods to help control and prevent cardiovascular diseases.
Green tea is known as the healthiest drink on the planet because it contains a large amount of polyphenol antioxidants, the most prominent of which is the compound EGCG and other nutrients that are very effective in preventing dangerous diseases.
Considered the strongest antioxidant today, EGCG in green tea helps the body quickly eliminate toxins from the blood, helps lose weight, and prevents cardiovascular diseases and cancer, which are increasingly widespread due to tobacco, alcohol, dirty food, and an unbalanced lifestyle.
The compound EGCG has the ability to protect heart cells from damage during chemotherapy when exposed to drugs that have side effects that are harmful to heart tissue, according to a study published in the European Journal of Pharmacolygy.
In 2010, the journal Archives Pflugers published that EGCG in green tea can protect the heart against damage caused by myocardial ischemia.
Japanese scientists, in the process of researching the effects of EGCG in green tea, conducted a large-scale study with more than 90,000 people aged 40 to 69 years old over a period of 4 years.
The results show that drinking a cup of green tea every day helps regulate blood pressure, reduce excess fat in the body, drinking more than 4 cups/day will reduce the risk of stroke by 2/3. Drinking more than 10 cups/day reduces the risk of death from cardiovascular and respiratory diseases by 20% because EGCG in green tea helps prevent bad cholesterol, thereby preventing many risks of blood damage.
Research results from the Deaconess Medical Center in Boston (USA) also showed that the rate of people with cardiovascular disease living longer increased by 44% for those who drank more than 4 cups of tea per day.

According to experts, green tea has long been considered the best drink to fight cancer, arteriosclerosis, and infections. Green tea provides nutrients and antioxidants that help strengthen the body's immune system.
Scientists have also shown that certain substances in green tea help the lining of the blood vessels to withstand changes in blood pressure. EGCG in green tea has strong anti-inflammatory properties, thus reducing inflammation in the blood vessels, thereby reducing the risk of arterial wall adhesion.
EGCG may also lower blood pressure by reducing the heart's ability to pump blood through inflamed arteries or helping protect against the formation of blood clots in the heart - a major cause of heart attacks, strokes and death.
Daily consumption of green tea also helps diabetic patients lower and stabilize blood sugar levels. In addition, EGCG also reduces cardiovascular complications in diabetic patients. This is the result published in the journal Cell Physiology and Biochemistry (2010).
Nowadays, more and more young people are suffering from cardiovascular diseases, mainly because young people today do not have a regular exercise regimen, are addicted to cigarettes, have an unhealthy diet, are stressed from work...
Preventing cardiovascular disease and its complications is not too difficult. Just by exercising regularly, eating moderately and drinking green tea every day, we can gradually push back this disease which is causing the highest mortality rate in the world every second and every minute./.
