At around 2:00 p.m. on March 25, the joint force of Quang Ninh province stopped a pickup truck on National Highway 18, in the area of ​​​​Km 15 Joint Station - Dan Tien Wharf, Mong Cai city, running in the direction of Ha Long - Mong Cai due to suspicious signs.

Seeing the police stopping him, the driver reversed and crashed into a 7-seat police car that was blocking the rear, then turned around and fled in the direction of Mong Cai - Ha Long.

Fearing that the driver's reckless actions would endanger the lives of others, the police fired two shots into the tire.

The two men fled from the flat tire and ran up a nearby hill. Police closed in and arrested one of them.

In the police car, they found many pangolins, estimated to weigh several hundred kilograms.

Authorities identified the pangolin species and completed the case file to prosecute those involved in the illegal transportation of rare wild animals.
