The Northwest Steering Committee gives Tet gifts to poor households in Bao Nam commune, Ky Son

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 12, a delegation of the Northwest Steering Committee led by Mr. Nguyen Canh Viet - Deputy Head of the Committee visited and gave gifts to poor households and ethnic minorities in Bao Nam commune (Ky Son).

Accompanying the delegation were comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Full-time member of the Northwest Steering Committee and members. On the side of Nghe An province, there was comrade Luong Thanh Hai - Head of the Provincial Ethnic Committee and representatives of the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Provincial Party Committee Office, and the Provincial Fatherland Front. On the side of the Ky Son district leaders, there was comrade Vi Hoe - Secretary of the District Party Committee and leaders of district-level departments and offices.

About 17 km from Muong Xen Town, Bao Nam is a particularly difficult mountainous commune. The commune has a diverse and complex natural terrain. The whole commune has 10 villages with a total of 635 households, 3,412 people, 100% of which are Khmu ethnic people.

In general, the people's education level is still limited, and the living and production habits in Bao Nam are backward. In recent years, despite the attention of authorities at all levels from the central to local levels, the material and spiritual life of the people is still very difficult. The whole commune currently has up to 79.3% poor households (according to the new standards).

Comrade Nguyen Canh Viet - Deputy Head of the Northwest Steering Committee hopes that peoplecontinue to strive for economic and social development, gradually improving the quality of life.

At the gift-giving ceremony, comrade Nguyen Canh Viet - Deputy Head of the Northwest Steering Committee kindly asked about the health of the people and wished the families in Bao Nam commune a happy, peaceful and prosperous new year.

He hopes that the ethnic people here will continue to trust the Party and the State to work with local Party committees and authorities to concretize the Party's Directives and Resolutions, continue to strive to advance in socio-economic development, and gradually improve the quality of life.

Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh presented gifts to representatives of 10 poor households in Bao Nam commune.

On this occasion, the delegation of the Northwest Steering Committee also presented gifts to the Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Bao Nam commune, hoping that the commune leaders would continue to devote their hearts and minds to building the commune to gradually escape poverty and improve its life.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Northwest Steering Committee, comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh presented 10 gifts out of a total of 100, each worth 500,000 VND to representatives of 10 households in the commune.
