More than 18 years in prison for 3 subjects who used weapons to rob electric bicycles

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 29, the People's Court of Do Luong district tried the case of Property Robbery against the defendants: Pham Ngoc Ly (born 1995), residing in Thai Son commune, Do Luong district, Tang Van Hung (born 1995), residing in Yen Hoa commune, Tuong Duong district, Dang Van Hiep (born 1996), residing in Quang Son commune, Do Luong district.

Three subjects at the police station

According to the indictment of the Procuracy, at around 11:00 a.m. on October 7, 2015, the three subjects went to Hamlet 6, Quang Son Commune, Do Luong, to wait and saw Dang Van Nhat (born in 1999) in Thuong Son Commune, Do Luong, a student at Duy Tan Private High School, on his way home from school. Hung asked to sit in the car and gave directions to Nhat to take him to the area that his accomplices had arranged in advance. When they arrived, Ly and Hiep threatened him with swords.

After being attacked, the victim panicked and threw away the electric bike and ran away, calling for help. After stealing the electric bike, the subjects quickly fled, but were discovered and chased by the people, so they abandoned the stolen electric bike at Long Thai Dam, Thai Son Commune to escape. The bike is worth: 6,000,000 VND (Six million VND).

At the end of the trial, the jury sentenced: Tang Van Hung to 7 years and 3 months in prison, plus the previous sentence that had not been cleared: 9 months suspended sentence: Total sentence is 8 years and 3 months in prison, Dang Van Hiep to 7 years in prison. Pham Ngoc Ly to 3 years and 6 months in prison./.
