Hung Nguyen launches Olympic Running Day for public health

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 26, at Le Hong Phong Cultural House, Hung Nguyen District People's Committee held a ceremony to launch the Olympic Running Day for the health of all people, in celebration of the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 - March 27, 2016).

Attending the 2016 Hung Nguyen District Olympic Running Day were 547 representatives of agencies, units under the district and Hung Nguyen Town.

Before launching the Olympic Running Day, the leaders of the District Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee and delegates held a ceremony to offer incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Soviet Nghe Tinh monument.

This is one of the meaningful activities to celebrate the success of the 12th National Congress of the Party, towards the election of the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term, especially the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 - March 27, 2016). At the same time, it aims to encourage all classes of people to participate in physical training and sports, responding to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "Healthy to build a career and defend the country".

Immediately after the launching ceremony, the leaders of the District Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee of Hung Nguyen district, along with delegates and a large number of cadres, civil servants, public employees and armed forces responded to the Olympic running day and participated in the run on a distance of nearly 1km from the Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Square to Cau Boi - Hung Dao commune.
