Promoting the role of cooperatives in agricultural production.

(Baonghean.vn) - On April 2nd, the Hung Nguyen Town Agricultural and Environmental Services Cooperative held its General Meeting of Members for the 2016-2021 term. Representatives from the Provincial Cooperative Union, the Rural Development Sub-Department, and Hung Nguyen District attended.

The Hung Nguyen Town Agricultural and Environmental Services Cooperative has 1,200 members. During the past term, the cooperative provided services including: irrigation services, agricultural supplies and plant protection, waste collection and treatment, housing rental, urban landscaping, tray seedling cultivation, and machine transplanting.

The tray seedling cultivation service of the Hung Nguyen Town Agricultural and Environmental Cooperative has been in operation since 2014.

During the term (2010 - 2015), the cooperative ensured the supply of irrigation and drainage water for 387 hectares/crop, provided quality fertilizers and pesticides to the people, and guided farmers on scientific and technical applications in agricultural production; it also supplied 300 tons of various fertilizers to the farmers. In addition, the cooperative made efforts to borrow capital to purchase a specialized garbage truck to collect waste in the area.

Although the rice transplanter and tray seedling service was only launched in 2014, it has been enthusiastically received by the people. With 70% of the cost of purchasing transplanters and 50% of the cost of supporting machinery for the transplanter service subsidized by the Hung Nguyen District People's Committee, the cooperative mobilized additional capital contributions from members and borrowed credit to purchase 2 transplanters, 2 seeders, 1 threshing machine, and 7,500 trays for seedling production. In 2014-2015, the cooperative produced 9,000 trays of seedlings to serve 30 hectares. Along with other services such as agricultural extension and maintenance of the green spaces along National Highway 46 through Hung Nguyen town, this brings in annual revenue of 1-1.3 billion VND.

The cooperative's waste collection service covers the town area of the district.

The General Assembly adopted the Resolution for the 2016-2020 term of the Cooperative, setting goals for recruiting more members, expanding service types, and creating more jobs for workers. It also aims to strengthen linkages with companies and businesses to supply and sell goods through service contracts. The projected charter capital for the Cooperative is 1 billion VND. Annual profit from service activities is projected at 20%,... The plan includes adding new business lines to increase profits for the Cooperative and its members, fostering internal unity, improving management skills, and innovating operating methods to ensure the Cooperative's sustainable development.

Introducing the Board of Directors and Supervisory Board for the 2016-2021 term.

The General Assembly elected a new Board of Directors and Supervisory Board, and elected Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hue as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of the Cooperative.
