Promoting the role of cooperatives in agricultural production

(Baonghean.vn) - On April 2, Hung Nguyen Town Agricultural and Environmental Service Cooperative held a Congress of members for the 2016-2021 term. Attending were representatives of the Provincial Cooperative Union, the Department of Rural Development, and Hung Nguyen District.

Hung Nguyen Town Agricultural and Environmental Service Cooperative has 1,200 members. During the past term, the cooperative provided services including: irrigation services, agricultural supplies and plant protection, waste collection and treatment, housing rental, urban trees, tray planting and machine planting services.

The tray planting service of Hung Nguyen Town Agricultural & Environmental Cooperative has been put into operation since 2014.

During the term (2010 - 2015), the Cooperative ensured the supply of irrigation and drainage water for 387 hectares/crop, provided quality fertilizers and pesticides to the people, and provided scientific and technical guidance for people to apply in agricultural production; provided 300 tons of various fertilizers to the people. In addition, the Cooperative made efforts to borrow capital to buy specialized garbage trucks to collect waste in the area.

Although the rice transplanting and tray seedling service was only put into operation in 2014, it has been actively responded by the people. With the support of the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen district for 70% of the cost of buying the transplanting machine and 50% of the machines supporting the transplanting service, the cooperative mobilized additional capital contributions from members and borrowed credit to purchase 2 transplanting machines, 2 seeding machines, 1 flour threshing machine and 7,500 trays for rice seedling production. In 2014-2015, the cooperative produced 9,000 trays of rice seedlings to serve the transplanting of 30 hectares. Along with other services such as agricultural extension and taking care of the green tree system on National Highway 46 through Hung Nguyen Town, it brought in an annual revenue of 1-1.3 billion VND.

The cooperative's waste collection service serves the district town area.

The Congress passed the Congress Resolution, term 2016 - 2020 Cooperative, setting the goal of recruiting more members, expanding service types, creating more jobs for workers. Strengthening links with companies and businesses to supply and consume concentrated products and goods through service contracts. Expected charter capital of the Cooperative is 1 billion VND. Profit from service stages is 20% annually,... Adding many new industries to increase profits for the Cooperative and members, internal solidarity, improving management skills, innovating operating methods to make the Cooperative increasingly sustainable.

The Congress elected a new Board of Directors, Board of Supervisors and elected Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hue as Chairman of the Board of Directors - Director of the Cooperative.
