Russia's fifth-generation stealth fighter Sukhoi T-50 PAK FA has set a new world record for climb speed during test flights, Rg.ru reported.
Accordingly, a test prototype of the T-50 PAK FA climbed at a speed of 384 m/s. At such a speed, the aircraft would reach the top of Mount Everest in just 23 seconds.
T-50 has passed the state testing program, including weapons. According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Air Force Viktor Bondarev, in 2016 a series of tests will be carried out in the last 11 test flights. The aircraft factory in Komsomolsk-on-Amur is ready for mass production of the PAK FA.
Although not yet put into service, Russia's fifth-generation fighter has received much attention from foreign countries, especially Southeast Asia. According to plans, by 2020, the export version of this aircraft will begin to be manufactured.
The implementation of the T-50 test plan is kept secret, but we know that it meets the requirements of a fifth-generation fighter, namely achieving supersonic speed without using afterburner, super-maneuverability with two 117S multi-dimensional vector control engines and near-invisibility to radar.
