Ho Chi Minh City: 29 people who urinated in public were fined within half a month
These cases are fined 200,000 VND/person and forced to rinse with water.
Faced with the fact that most public toilets in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City are deteriorating and not able to serve the people, this afternoon (March 23), the People's Committee of District 1 will issue a document urging stores to allow people to use the toilet for free.
The People's Committee of District 1 directed 10 wards of the district to mobilize stores to agree and hang signs inviting people to use the toilet for free when needed. Each ward will have to mobilize at least 10 points, while waiting for District 1 to build more standard public toilets through socialization.

This is to improve the situation where many people have poor awareness, defecate in public places, or public toilets are not enough to meet people's minimum hygiene needs.
Mr. Doan Ngoc Hai, Vice Chairman of District 1 People's Committee said: "The People's Committee of 10 wards will mobilize businesses, cafes, restaurants, and hotels on the street front to allow people to use the toilet for free. In 10 wards, there will be 100 points for people to use, very properly because it is clearly stated that it is free. I believe it will be implemented."
In the past half month, the authorities of District 1 have punished 29 cases of defecating in public places with a fine of 200,000 VND/person and forced them to flush the toilets. This action is being supported by the people, to restore the urban beauty of the city.
In District 1 - the city center, there are currently public toilets in markets and 30 toilets in parks, sidewalks, and bus stations, but most are considered to be degraded, overloaded, and have unreasonable fees./.
