(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 23, at the Gam Temple - Pagoda relic complex, Xuan Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district,officially openedGam Temple Festival 2016.

Gam Pagoda was built during the Tran Dynasty to worship the gods who protected the country and brought favorable weather and wind, such as Cao Son, Cao Cac, Sat Hai Dai Vuong Hoang Ta Thon, Ly Nhat Quang, Tu Vi Thanh Nuong and Ly Thien Cuong. Gam Pagoda is a religious architectural work, built by the people to worship Buddha Sakyamuni and Bodhisattvas.

Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Yen Thanh district and the abbot of Gam Pagoda offered incense on the opening day of the Festival.

Gam Pagoda Temple is also an ancient, sacred complex with beautiful, unique architecture, with sophisticated carvings and patterns, using many materials, expressing the intelligent ideas, skillful hands, aspirations and respect of the people for the merits of the gods, Buddha and ancestors.

This year, the Gam Temple Festival takes place for 3 days, from March 20 to March 23, 2016 (ie from February 13 to 15, Binh Than year). This is the 5th time the festival has been held to contribute to honoring, preserving and promoting various forms of national culture; at the same time, it is an opportunity to express people's faith and respect for the merits of gods, Buddha and ancestors, and to introduce the image of Yen Thanh rice land.
