On February 4, the Department of Investigation of Crimes on Social Order (PC45) - Ho Chi Minh City Police said that after a long period of monitoring, Team 5 of PC45 had just destroyed a large-scale casino in the Em&Mi Hotel (No. 22B, Tran Quang Khai, Tan Dinh Ward, District 1).

The seized evidence included more than 368 million VND, 100 decks of cards... and many other criminal tools. Previously, at about 11:30 p.m. on February 3, dozens of detectives from Team 5 PC45, Ho Chi Minh City Police, in coordination with District 1 Police, raided room 602 of Em&Mi Hotel and caught 33 subjects red-handed gambling on scratch cards for money.

Through investigation, it was determined that the organizer of this casino was Nguyen Thanh Nhan (born in 1989, residing in Binh Thanh district, Ho Chi Minh City).

The casino operates from around 10pm every day until the next morning, attracting dozens of gamblers. Nhan collects a 3% commission on the winnings, thereby illegally earning 30-40 million VND/day.

The casino organizers are extremely tight-knit and usually never appear there, leaving the job to their underlings to run.

Specifically, Nhan provided money to Nguyen Tan Phat (born in 1995; residing in Binh Thanh district) so that Phat could act as a "bank," lending money to gamblers at exorbitant interest rates for gambling.

Nhan also provided money to Nguyen Van Cuong (Cuong "pig" born in 1965, Binh Thanh district) who was assigned to act as the bookie if there were no gamblers.

Nhan hired Tran Than Hoai (born in 1983) and Truong Van Tam (born in 1974) to deal cards; Ha Tan Phu (born in 1978) to act as a lookout; Tran Thi Kim Yen (born in 1978) to lead the guests and only those who were regular guests or had someone to guarantee Yen were allowed into the hotel. The remaining two subjects were Tran Dai Nghia (born in 1985) and Nguyen The Loc (born in 1994) to keep the cars for the gamblers.

In addition, working with the police, the owner of Em&Mi hotel, Trinh Thi Thanh Thuy (born in 1987), admitted to knowing about Nhan's gambling organization and renting out rooms for gambling at a price of 11 million VND/day.

Currently, the police are consolidating the case file to handle the subjects according to the provisions of the law./.
