Two young men sentenced to prison for trafficking contraband.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 22nd, at Quynh Ngoc commune, the People's Court of Quynh Luu district held a mobile trial session to hear two cases of trafficking in prohibited goods.

According to the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Quynh Luu District, on December 25 and 26, 2015, the defendant Nguyen Tien Hanh, born in 1989, residing in Hamlet 2, Quynh Giang Commune, drove a small cargo truck from Do Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District to Vinh City.

After completing her deliveries, Hanh was preparing to leave Vinh Market Bus Station when a man, approximately 35 years old, approached her and offered to sell her firecrackers. After some discussion, the man sold Hanh a pack of 36 firecrackers for 400,000 VND. Hanh then bought 36 packs of firecrackers, totaling 14,400,000 VND, and transported them back to her home in Quynh Giang commune for safekeeping.

At 5 PM on December 28, 2015, Nguyen Tien Hanh put 36 firecrackers into a sack and transported them to the gate of Ga Vang Co., Ltd. in Hamlet 2, Quynh Giang Commune, to sell them. He was discovered and caught red-handed by the PC 64 Anti-Smuggling Task Force (Provincial Police). He was then transferred to Quynh Luu District Police for investigation and processing. At the trial, the defendant Nguyen Tien Hanh admitted to all his crimes and was sentenced to 24 months in prison.

Also on the morning of March 22nd, the People's Court of Quynh Luu District tried and sentenced defendant Tran Van Khoi, born in 1966, residing in Hamlet 6, Quynh Ngoc Commune, to 36 months in prison for the crime of "Trading in prohibited goods".
