Memorial Ceremony of Holy Mother Lieu Hanh

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 9 (March 3 of the lunar calendar), at the national historical site of Hong Son Temple, Vinh City held a memorial service for Holy Mother Lieu Hanh - one of the Four Immortals of the Vietnamese people.

Attending the death anniversary of the Holy Mother were representatives of Vinh City leaders, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and many local people.

According to Vietnamese folklore, Holy Mother Lieu Hanh is one of the Four Immortals. Holy Mother is the daughter of the Jade Emperor, who descended to earth three times, manifested her spirit to help the people and the country, was honored as "Mother of the World" and has been honored and worshiped by the people of the whole country for hundreds of years. In the past, in Vinh city, there were many cultural relics worshiping Holy Mother. However, due to time and historical events, the worship relics are no longer intact; the people of Vinh city have moved the worship system to Hong Son Temple. The death anniversary of Holy Mother is held annually on the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month, an occasion to remind the descendants of today and tomorrow to deeply appreciate the ancestors who built and defended the country. At the same time, this is a meaningful activity in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.

For many years, Hong Son Temple has become a gathering place for people and tourists from all over to come and burn incense and pray to worship the Holy Mother Lieu Hanh.
