Attending the ceremony were Major General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of Military Region 4. 2016 is the first year of implementing the 2015 Law on Military Service, some contents on the term of military service, age of conscription, etc. have changed compared to the old law. In this year's military recruitment, Yen Thanh district has 240 young men who meet the standards of political quality, ethics, cultural level, and good health, selected to join 6 units: Division 324 Military Region 4, Division 968 Military Region 4, Brigade 16 Military Region 4, Brigade 206 Military Region 4, Nghe An Provincial Military Command, Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command.
According to the assessment, the quality of citizens recruited for military service this year is higher than last year: 85% are in health category 1 and 2; 70% are in high school, including 12 people with intermediate, college, and university degrees, reaching 5.0%; religious youth reach 8.3%.

2,900 young Soviet men eagerly join the army The whole province has 2,900 young men joining the army, of which 1,060 young men are assigned to units under the Ministry of National Defense (Navy, Air Defense - Air Force, Mausoleum Command, Border Guard Command, Coast Guard Command, Tank - Armored Corps, Signal Corps, General Department of Engineering), and 1,840 young men are assigned to units in Military Region 4 (Nghe An Provincial Military Command, Military School of Military Region, Division 324, Division 968, Air Defense Brigade 283, Tank - Armored Brigade 206, Engineer Brigade 414, Artillery Brigade 16, Signal Brigade 80). Of the 2,900 young men enlisted this time, 18 are party members (0.6%); 1,395 are trained in the Party Sympathy Class; 114 are religious (3.9%); 466 are children of ethnic minorities (16%). There were 2,629 young people aged 18 to 22 (90.6%); and 271 young people aged 23 to 27 (9.3%). In terms of educational level, 1,058 young people graduated from secondary school (36.4%); 1,620 young people graduated from high school (55.8%). In particular, 222 young people have graduated from university, college, and intermediate school (7.7%). Regarding health, 995 young people have type 1 health (34.3%), 1,367 young people have type 2 health (47.1%), and 538 young people have type 3 health (18.5%). |
