Nghe An: 400-year-old drifting tree recognized as historical and cultural relic

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 7, the Quynh Luu District Ornamental Plants Association coordinated with Quynh Lam Commune to organize a ceremony to receive the Certificate of Recognition as a Vietnamese Historical and Cultural Relic for the Troi tree, which is over 400 years old.

The Troi tree in village 3, Quynh Lam commune is over 400 years old, located in the complex of De Temple and two small temples, Nghe Dach and Nghe Dong. When the French colonialists invaded and implemented the scorched earth policy, pagodas were destroyed, only the Troi tree survived. Through many ups and downs of history, the Troi tree still grows buds and leaves, with luxuriant branches and leaves, protecting revolutionary soldiers.

At the ceremony, representatives of Nghe An Ornamental Plants Association presented the Certificate of Recognition of the Vietnamese Historical and Cultural Relic of the Troi tree to officials and people of Village 3, Quynh Lam Commune. At the same time, the Provincial and District Ornamental Plants Association also presented 3 million VND to support Village 3 in the restoration, protection and care of the Troi tree./.
