May 11, 2016 10:37

(Baonghean) - Discussion by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan - Head of the Department of Inspection and Enforcement of Criminal Judgments, Provincial People's Court; candidate for the 14th National Assembly.

PV:If you become a delegate of the 14th National Assembly, what will you do to promote your role?

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan:As is known, the National Assembly is the highest representative body of the people, the highest authority of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; is the only body with the right to make the Constitution, legislate, decide on important issues of the country and supremely supervise all activities of the State apparatus.

If I am elected by voters as a National Assembly deputy, based on my legal knowledge, theoretical foundation, and more than 20 years of practical experience working in the Court sector, I will work with other National Assembly deputies to actively build and perfect a more advanced, modern, and stable State legal system that meets the requirements of social order and safety, economic development, and international integration, as well as the judicial reform of our Party and State. I will also devote all my efforts, intelligence, and experience to contributing to building a clean and strong judicial agency, on par with the country's development requirements, determined to build and protect the people's trust in the Court sector through its trial activities.

PV:Can you tell us more about the specific contents of your action program if elected to the National Assembly?

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan:As a legal officer, I focus on promoting awareness of law compliance in the community. Becoming a National Assembly delegate will help me make the promotion more effective. Accordingly, I will advise on strengthening coordination with departments, branches and organizations in promoting, disseminating and educating the law to all classes of people, especially women in remote areas and young people in many forms such as: Through mobile courts, mediation sessions, legal seminars, legal knowledge training, and speaking at schools. At the same time, through trial work, summarizing practices and proposing specific solutions to make the development and promotion of law more effective.

With my passion, knowledge and skills, if I become a female National Assembly delegate, I will have favorable conditions to represent women to participate more actively in constitutional activities, legislation, supervision and decision-making on important issues of the country. This is also a testament to the progress and equality of women, and at the same time a measure to bring diverse perspectives in the process of building and implementing policies.

I will also spend more time meeting and interacting with voters, better understanding the real life and thoughts and aspirations of the people; listening and synthesizing the opinions, reflections and recommendations of voters and people to propose to the National Assembly the requirements that voters and people expect, the difficulties and obstacles in various fields, especially policies directly related to improving the quality of material and spiritual life of the people. In addition, for issues related to the Court sector, within my authority, with all the wisdom and experience of a judge, I will wholeheartedly solve the problem, help voters to resolve and remove obstacles in a sympathetic and reasonable manner.

PV:Thank you!
