A Twitter user posted a photo of a lion that had escaped from the zoo and was walking freely on the street with the comment “no kidding, the earthquake caused the lion to escape from the zoo, it is right next to my house”.

This news immediately caused panic among many people and was labeled "Please share to alert everyone".

However, netizens soon traced the origin of the photo. It was not taken in Kumamoto after the earthquake, but was used in a program introducing a city said to have the worst security situation in the world.

Another user posted on Twitter about a fire at the Kawauchi nuclear power plant. This rumor made netizens think of the 2011 earthquake disaster in northern Japan.

However, the nuclear power plant management confirmed that there was no fire at the Kawauchi plant.

This Twitter page was immediately refuted by netizens and its owner had to immediately delete this rumor.

Another rumor that has people worried is that there is information that there is a fire at the large AEON shopping mall located right in the earthquake area.

This information was spread online, causing the news program Withnews to mistake it for real information and include it in the news program.

Shortly after, the mall management criticized that there was no such incident and 20 minutes later, the tour guide came up to apologize and correct the information./.
