Town leaders and Quynh Xuan ward leaders visited the victim's family |
Previously, at about 2:20 a.m. on May 2, a fire broke out at the house of Mr. Le Tien Ngu and Ms. Nguyen Thi Cot, block 11, Quynh Xuan ward.
According to the victim’s family, Mr. Ngu and his wife have three sons and a daughter-in-law. His family life has recently been in conflict because he often gets drunk and beats his wife. On the afternoon of May 1, Mr. Ngu went to buy a 20-liter can of gasoline and brought it home. His children discovered him and went looking for him but could not find him.
That night, the twin sons (born in 1997) slept on a mattress next to their parents' bed. At the time of the fire, the two-room house had two doors, one was locked and the other was bolted. The eldest son and his wife were sleeping upstairs so they did not know what happened.
The police investigation of the scene showed that gasoline had soaked the mattress where the two sons slept, spread throughout the room, and even poured onto the locked door. Therefore, when the fire broke out, the people inside the house could not open the door and escape.
The fire left Mrs. Cot dead in a prone position on the spot, and Mr. Ngu collapsed dead at the door of the room. The two sons, Le Tien Dong and Le Tien Dieu, ran outside, one fell on the steps, the other fell in the water tank but was severely burned and was transferred to the Central Burn Hospital for treatment. However, Dieu died a few hours later. Currently, the remaining victim is in a very critical condition, with a life expectancy of only about 20%.
In the immediate future, the Town leaders have supported 8 million VND, and the local leaders have supported 3.5 million VND for the victim's family to take care of the funeral.
For the victim Le Tien Dong who is currently being treated in Hanoi, the daily cost is more than 10 million VND, the town and local leaders will continue to have other support solutions to help the family soon stabilize their spirit and overcome the pain.
