White House spokesman Josh Earnest stated that Washington is prepared to invest its resources in defending South Korea.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov held a bilateral meeting and issued a joint statement opposing the deployment of THAAD on the Korean Peninsula.
Regarding this issue, Mr. Earnest stated that American security experts assess that additional resources are necessary to protect South Korea from North Korea's ongoing provocations, and this is why South Korea and the United States will continue discussions on deploying THAAD in South Korea.
