The Que Phong Irrigation Branch has provided water pumps and fuel to farmers to irrigate rice fields affected by drought.

Of the total 189 hectares affected by drought, 52 hectares are severely affected. Local authorities are currently using pumps to transfer water for rice irrigation. The areas most affected by drought are the communes of Tien Phong, Hanh Dich, Muong Ngoc, Quang Phong, Que Son, and Chau Thon.

The District People's Committee has directed the Department of Agriculture and the Northwest Irrigation Company Limited, Que Phong branch, to assign staff to monitor the drought situation in order to develop timely drought mitigation plans. Based on the actual situation in each commune, drought mitigation plans are being developed, and plans are being made for villages to dredge canals, reservoirs, and dams. The people are being encouraged to use water rationally and economically, and to plan for water storage.

For communes severely affected by drought, the Que Phong Irrigation Branch is assisting farmers in pumping water to combat the drought. Meanwhile, in Que Son commune, water pipes are being used to channel water from the Truong Banh irrigation pipeline into the internal canals to help farmers access water.
