(Baonghean.vn) - Big profits make human traffickers organize many trickssophisticated, enticing, and luring women and children from border areas to China to sell into prostitution or as wives.

With the characteristics of a province with a 419.5km long border with Laos, 27 border communes, more than 500,000 ethnic minorities, Nghe An is facing the crime of human trafficking. Taking advantage of the limited awareness and understanding of the law of the mountainous people, many subjects have lured and lured women and children to be tricked and sold across the border.

From 2011 to 2015, Nghe An province's functional forces discovered 65 cases and 135 subjects related to human trafficking crimes. In 2015 alone, 20 cases and 45 subjects related to human trafficking were discovered and arrested, and 29 victims were rescued. The investigation agency initiated investigations into 63 cases and 132 defendants involved in the trafficking of 121 women and children, and completed files to transfer to the People's Procuracy to prosecute 67 cases and 125 defendants. People's Courts at all levels have accepted and tried 56 cases and 86 defendants related to human trafficking crimes.

Explaining the increasing trend of human trafficking crimes, Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Ngoc Manh - Deputy Head of the Anti-Drug Department (Nghe An Border Guard) said: After being lured, victims will be paid from 20 to 60 million VND. Meanwhile, for each victim sold across the border, after deducting all expenses for travel, accommodation and "advance" money for the victims, the subjects earn up to 300 million VND. The huge profits make human traffickers think of more tricks to deceive the authorities.

“To strengthen the trust of the victims and their families, the subjects on one hand use letters and photos to introduce people who have done business and become rich and well-off. On the other hand, they are willing to generously advance the victims' travel expenses or salaries... Faced with these tricks, the victims are dazzled by the prospect of a bright future and fall into the trap,” said Ms. Truong Thi Tuyet Mai - Vice Chairwoman of Que Phong District People's Committee.

Human trafficking crimes are often carried out by subjects with the tricks that subjects often use: recruiting workers to work at companies, recruiting sales staff, recruiting female workers for hire or inviting them to trade with high remuneration to deceive gullible women and then sell them to the other side of the border. In particular, human trafficking crimes involve the participation of some victims who have been sold.

My victims of human trafficking are mainly children and women from 14 to 30 years old, or women who are "past their prime", some of whom have particularly difficult family circumstances; some who are eager to have fun; some of whom have the idea of escaping from industrial labor jobs in industrial zones... The areas where human traffickers operate are often rural and mountainous areas, where the level of education is low, the people are gullible, the economy is difficult, and many people are unemployed.
