The homeowner moved out at night, My Phuong suspected a thief so she reported it to the police and then took a picture of the homeowner and posted it on Facebook. The homeowner filed a complaint and the person who posted it on Facebook was fined 7.5 million VND.
On May 11, the Investigation Police Agency of Tan Tru District, Long An Province announced that it had issued a decision to administratively fine Vo Thi My Phuong (32 years old, residing in Tan Tru) 7.5 million VND for providing and using information to insult the honor, dignity, and reputation of others.
According to the investigation, on the night of December 12, 2015, Ms. NTDP (38 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City) and her husband dismantled personal belongings at her notary office in Tan Tru district to move home. The move was at night, and there was no electricity.

Ms. My Phuong suspected a theft and reported it to the Tan Tru town police station. The police then checked and confirmed that Ms. DP had moved her own property, so they let her continue her work.
However, Ms. My Phuong still did not know that the police had checked, so at noon on December 13, she wrote on Facebook: “Notification, on the night of December 12, 2015, from 7pm to 12pm, a theft occurred at Tan Tru Notary Office. Taking advantage of the time when the office manager went home on the weekend, the thief and his accomplices dismantled all the furniture in the office and escaped during the night. The surprising truth is that the thief is a very familiar person. Guess who it is. If you guess correctly, you will be rewarded.”
Not yet, at noon on December 13, seeing Ms. DP and her husband continue to dismantle furniture at the notary office, Ms. My Phuong used her personal phone to take pictures and post 6 photos on Facebook with the content: "Pictures of the thieves". By the end of December 2015, Ms. My Phuong had deleted the above content.
However, Ms. DP discovered the content on Ms. My Phuong's Facebook and sent a complaint to the police.
According to the investigation agency, Ms. My Phuong's actions offended the honor and dignity of the people in the photos that Phuong posted, but due to the general content, considering that My Phuong deleted the above content herself before Ms. DP reported, the police only decided to impose an administrative fine of 7.5 million VND.
