Vietnamese Pho Restaurant Owner Wins Award Honoring Symbol of the American Dream

Taylor Hoang, a Vietnamese-American girl, just won the "Diverse Faces" award presented by the Education Foundation of the National Restaurant Association of America.

The Washington Restaurant Association (WRA) said that Taylor Hoang, a WRA member, won the 2015 Faces of Diversity Award.

The award honors diverse members of the restaurant industry who have achieved success and become symbols of the American Dream. Taylor Hoang opened a pho restaurant called Pho Cyclo Cafe at age 28, and has since opened four more locations with similar success.

Taylor Hoang also founded a catering company for parties called Lavender Jade Catering.

Taylor Hoang will be officially presented with the Faces of Diversity Award, at a gala in Washington, DC next April.

Washington is home to more than 13,800 restaurants and contributes more than $15 billion to the state's economy each year.
