ABC and CBS win big at 2016 Daytime Emmy Awards

With 6 awards each, more than half of the awards given went to these two stations.

ABC won the big award for "Outstanding Drama" with the success of "General Hospital," while CBS asserted its strength in entertainment and talk show programming.

CBS's "The Talk" was named the year's most popular talk show, while its "The Price Is Right" also took home the award for best game show.

The Daytime Emmy is an award presented by the American Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to honor the achievements of American television programs during the year.

The Emmy Awards are considered equivalent to the Oscars in the film industry, the Grammys in the music industry and the Tony Awards in the theater industry./.
