1. "Panama Papers" Leak

The South German newspaper (SZ) on April 3 published a secret document about the largest data leak to date about a "tax haven" of the world's rich and powerful. These documents, dubbed "Panama Papers" by the German newspaper, show how the company helped its clients evade taxes and launder money, involving 214,000 shell companies. According to the newspaper, about 140 politicians around the world have sought "tax havens", including 12 leaders of countries.

2. US-Philippines begin 11-day joint military exercise

US and Philippine troops began a major 11-day military exercise on April 4, as Chinese state media warned “outsiders” not to interfere in tense territorial disputes in the South China Sea.

3. Forces in Nagorny-Karabakh enforce ceasefire

On April 5, both Armenia and Azerbaijan confirmed that they had reached a ceasefire agreement after several days of fierce fighting that killed at least 73 people. The ceasefire agreement took effect from 12:00 local time on April 5 (ie 15:00 Hanoi time). However, the Armenian Defense Ministry said that some sporadic gunfire was still taking place.

4. South Korea conducts early voting for general election

From 6:00 a.m. on April 8, more than 3,500 polling stations across South Korea opened simultaneously so that voters could cast early votes for the general election for the 20th National Assembly, which will officially take place on April 13.

5. Another suspect in the bloody terrorist attack in Paris was arrested.

On April 8, Belgian radio and television station VRT reported that Mohamed Abrini, 31 years old, a Belgian national, who was wanted for his involvement in a series of terrorist attacks in Paris (France) last November that killed 130 people, had been arrested.
