NATO has prepared for military exercises in Poland.

(Baonghean.vn) - A NATO spokesperson said on May 17 (local time) that military equipment and troops have arrived in Poland in preparation for the "Spearhead" force exercise.

NATO Lieutenant Colonel Davide Galli added that the soldiers and equipment were transported by sea to the Baltic port of Szczecin and by air to Wroclaw airport in southwestern Poland. From there, everything will be sent to the exercise area in Zagan.

The large-scale exercise involved nearly 1,500 troops from Spain, the United Kingdom, Albania, and Poland.

The exercise aimed to train the ability to deploy defense systems in the event that the alliance's eastern flank was threatened.

The exercise is expected to continue until May 27th.

Concerned about recent Russian military activities, NATO has affirmed its presence and the establishment of security measures in Poland.

The official content is expected to be adopted at the NATO summit in Warsaw in July 2016.
