Accordingly, the district's task and solution is to focus on directing the review and transformation of crop and livestock structures towards increasing added value and sustainable development, and reorganizing the planning of commodity production areas associated with consumption.

Specifically, for rice, the area of ​​high-quality rice will be expanded, while the land use coefficient will be upgraded by increasing the winter crop production area on 2-rice land with commercial vegetables and 3-crop fish farming. By 2020, the rice area will be stable at 18,000 hectares, of which high-quality rice will account for 60% according to the large-scale field model, high-income fields linked with businesses.

For corn and peanuts, science and technology will be applied and new varieties with high productivity and quality will be researched for production.

Regarding livestock farming, it is developed in the direction of concentrated farms and planned for each region, such as developing commercial buffalo, cow and chicken farming in hilly communes; pig and duck farming in rice and lowland communes. Along with that, it is important to focus on developing some specialty animals such as goats, deer, wild boars, ostriches, mallards, porcupines, etc.

For the fisheries economy, actively direct fishermen to invest in advanced fishing technology, improve fishing gear, and respond to large-capacity fishing vessels; organize offshore fishing in the form of production teams; strive to achieve an output of 34,000 tons by 2020. At the same time, there are solutions to improve the efficiency of aquaculture, reaching 3,000 hectares with 7,000 tons of aquatic products by 2020.

Along with production development solutions, Dien Chau focuses on investing in developing refined processing technology, deep processing of agricultural products, creating diversity for output, increasing product value. Strengthening operational capacity, developing rural craft villages, operational efficiency of cooperatives... At the same time, focusing on investing in building agricultural infrastructure to adapt to climate change; continuing to effectively implement the new rural construction program, creating comprehensive and sustainable development for rural areas.
