At the meeting, the representative of the Provincial People's Committee informed the working delegation about the socio-economic development situation, foreign affairs, international cooperation, the implementation of international treaties and agreements, and the implementation of investment projects in Nghe An.
In 2015 and the first quarter of 2016, the organization and management of the diplomatic corps were well implemented. Foreign non-governmental organizations, Vietnamese organizations and individuals abroad sponsored the province with a total capital of nearly 1.5 million USD.
Foreign cultural activities were strongly implemented, foreign information work and management of information and press activities of foreign reporters in the locality were in accordance with procedures and regulations. 27 international conferences and seminars were organized, creating a good impression in the eyes of investors, opening up cooperation opportunities between the province and foreign partners, organizations and enterprises.

Regarding international cooperation, Nghe An has established friendly relations at the provincial, district, city and town levels with many localities of Laos, Thailand, China, Korea, Japan, etc. Notably, cooperation activities with Ulianov (Russia), Gifu (Japan), Côtes d'Armor (France), etc.
The working delegation and the Provincial People's Committee discussed in more depth the contents related to the functions and tasks of the Department of Foreign Affairs, the appraisal work of competent agencies on aid from foreign organizations, the operation of border gates, legal education for Vietnamese workers abroad, difficulties in managing foreign economic activities, local human resources to implement international treaties and agreements, etc.

On behalf of the delegation, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee Ngo Duc Manh pointed out that Vietnam is actively integrating, but there are still many challenges. Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Viet Duong hoped that the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee would continue to pay attention to and support the province in implementing Resolution 26 of the Politburo, building Nghe An into a prosperous province in the Northern region.
