Unique socks that keep your feet from smelling bad all year round
The heat is a nightmare for those who wear shoes or suffer from foot odor (bromodosis). Now, a farmer in England claims to have found a solution to this problem: anti-smelly socks that can be worn all year round without washing.

Devon, England farmer Steve Whitley's solution involves Angora goat wool, commonly known as mohair, an expensive material usually only used to make luxury designer clothes.
As we know, human feet have more sweat glands than any other part of the body. And feet often smell bad when sweat comes into contact with bacteria on the skin.
But socks made from young Angora goats don’t trap bacteria like coarser wools or cotton, Whitley says, so mohair socks could theoretically last for a year without smelling or needing to be washed.
Whitley says he initially sold mohair socks for their durability and comfort, but the amazing response from customers led him to learn about their unique anti-odor properties.

“Customers started telling us they could wear the socks for days without them getting sticky or smelly,” says Whitley. “It was the men who talked about it first, but then more and more female customers started reporting it. One band leader even boasted that he had worn his socks for a year without washing them.
Unlike cotton, mohair fibers do not trap bacteria that can cause problems with foot hygiene. As a result, our socks can be used day after day, week after week, in extreme conditions without causing any problems, from foot odor to discomfort."
According to experts, mohair is favored by fashion designers around the world because of its durability, elasticity and heat retention properties. What few people know is that the first layers of hair cut from young Angora goats also have high water absorption and prevent bacteria accumulation by absorbing sweat from the skin.
Due to the advertised superior properties, customers can expect to spend up to $31 to purchase a top-of-the-line version of mohair socks.
