Crowds gathered outside the OC Fair & Event in Orange County, California, clashed with thousands of supporters of US presidential candidate Trump. Police were deployed to quell the riot, but several skirmishes still occurred, CNN reported today.

Police arrested 20 people after protesters attempted to block an intersection. Trump supporters were punched in the face after clashes with those accusing Trump of racism.

Lieutenant Mark Stichter, information officer for the Orange County Sheriff's Office, said it was impossible to estimate how many people participated in the protest, but television footage showed a large crowd.

Some unruly individuals surrounded a police car, smashing windows and trampling on it. Police were forced to create a cordon and order the crowd to disperse. The protesters said they opposed Trump's arguments, which were interpreted as anti-immigrant. Some carried Mexican flags to protest the Republican candidate.

"I oppose Trump's nationalist agenda, which is dividing people," said Rojelio Banuelos, a 26-year-old male student.Banuelos, schoolgirlKatie Brazer said the protesters were fed up with Trump's hateful messages.

One of the central focuses of Trump's campaign was his plan to build a long wall along the U.S.-Mexico border to stop illegal immigration, crime, and drug trafficking. Trump insisted that Mexico should bear all the costs.
