Starting to hatch the idea at the beginning of August 2014, Nguyen Thi Hoai Giang, a 12C6 student specializing in Russian at Phan Boi Chau School, and 4 friends from the same school founded the program "Vinh's Books".
As a book lover, Giang shared that because she had heard a lot about book programs in big cities, especially the Book Box program, and realized that Vinh city did not have any book projects, she wanted to do something to connect book lovers in Nghe An. From there, the Vinh's Books program was born with the goal of spreading the reading culture as well as enhancing the culture of sharing books in the student community in Nghe An.
During the initial stages of the project, the Vinh's Books team encountered many difficulties, from contacting organizations that provide books, funding to maintaining and spreading the program to the community. However, thanks to the passion for books and newspapers as well as the support of the Phan School alumni community and several other organizations, the Vinh's Books project began operating in early 2015.
The first place Vinh's Books placed the book box was at Phan School, right under the school's bulletin board. The initial book box contained 28 literary books that were considered to be of high quality, from classics such as "The Godfather", "Wind through the Willows"... to new works such as "Seven Steps to Summer"...
After only a short time of use, the book box has been very successful. Many books with good, rich, and new content have been shared and spread strongly among the school's student community.

In addition to setting up bookcases at schools, the Vinh's Book program also set up a Facebook page to introduce good books to everyone. Nguyen Nhat Khanh Linh - a member of Vinh's Book said that the group also cherished the plan to build a good Vinh's Books program to be able to "attract" similar book fairs in big cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh to satisfy the wishes of book lovers from Nghe An.

After Vinh's Books was established, it attracted many people to read books. |
Realizing that the program was spreading and being shared widely in schools, the Vinh's Books group went to several schools and public places in the city to replicate the model. However, because this was a new project and because book readers in Vinh did not have the habit of sharing, the group encountered many difficulties in replicating their model.
Giang said that the group had received invitations to cooperate from schools outside the province such as Bac Giang, Lam Son, and Vung Tau specialized schools, but due to lack of ability and time, the students had to refuse to cooperate.
Despite many difficulties and having to focus a lot on final exam preparation, Giang and her friends said that Vinh's Books group will still try to continue operating and believe that the group's program will be more successful in the future.
