Growing jasmine flowers yields three times the income of other vegetables.

The family of Mr. Le Cong Tuan in Hamlet 1, Dai Thanh Commune, owns more than 3 sao (approximately 3,000 square meters) of garden land, all dedicated to growing Telosma cordata (Telosma cordata). The trellis system, constructed with concrete posts and utilizing scrap wood and bamboo, is very sturdy. Mr. Le Cong Tuan stated: "Telosma cordata is very easy to grow and yields a harvest quickly; it flowers after only 4-5 months."

With a harvest of about 40-50 kg every 2-3 days, and the current market price of 25,000 VND/kg, his family earns 1-1.2 million VND. On average, during the harvest season (the flowers bloom for about 5 months/year), his family earns 8-10 million VND per month. After more than two years of harvesting, the jasmine vine remains healthy and shows no signs of wilting.

Mr. Tuan invested in an additional sprinkler irrigation system to both save water and ensure the plants thrive during the hot season. Currently, the amount of jasmine flowers harvested is insufficient to supply the traders who come to his house to buy them, so his family plans to expand the area for growing jasmine flowers to about 5-6 acres next year.

According to Mr. Dang Huu Thin, who has over 5 years of experience growing and caring for the Chinese honeysuckle plant in Hamlet 5, Dai Thanh Commune, the technique for caring for Chinese honeysuckle is not complicated. The most important thing is that this plant needs plenty of water and sunlight, and the soil must be rich in organic matter. To encourage abundant flowering, after each harvest, it is necessary to add 100-120 grams of manure or NPK fertilizer to each plant.

You can utilize the porch or yard to build a trellis for this plant. Propagating the Chinese honeysuckle is quite simple; just choose a stem that is neither too old nor too young, cut it into sections about 7-10 cm long, then spray with rooting hormone and circle the base before planting the cutting in the ground, leaving 2-3 leaf nodes at the top.

In Hamlet 5, Dai Thanh Commune, out of 138 households, 70% now cultivate the Chinese honeysuckle (Telosma cordata). Mr. Le Cong Duong, the Party Secretary, stated: "The villagers have exchanged cultivation techniques with each other. Some households have only five to seven plants, while others have dozens. Market prices range from 20,000 to 25,000 VND per kilogram, with many households earning an average of 25-30 million VND per harvest. The value of Chinese honeysuckle is 3-4 times higher than other crops, therefore, the main crops in the hamlet over the past years have been green eggplant and Chinese honeysuckle..."

Dai Thanh commune currently has nearly 15 hectares of land planted with Telosma cordata flowers. Mr. Vuong Kim Su, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, stated: "In the process of building new rural areas, restructuring and developing the economy is a crucial goal. Therefore, after land conversion, the Commune Party Committee and People's Committee developed a plan to introduce various commercial vegetable crops. Among them, Telosma cordata has established itself as a clean vegetable crop with high nutritional value and outstanding income potential."
