The North Atlantic Alliance does not want a "cold war" with Russia, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in an interview with Polish television channel TVN.

Tổng thư ký NATO tuyên bố, liên minh này không muốn có chiến tranh lạnh với Nga.
NATO Secretary General declared that this military alliance does not want a cold war with Russia.

"We have long been watching Russia's heavy investment in its armed forces," said the NATO Secretary General. According to him, NATO only responds to these actions and strengthens its defense, "avoiding escalation" and supporting an open dialogue.

However, he stressed that at the moment the alliance does not see any direct threat to its members. "This is not a strategic partnership that we tried to create after the 'cold war'. At the same time, it is non-confrontational, we do not want a new 'cold war', - he said.

Stoltenberg also commented on the alliance's intention to strengthen its eastern flank.

"We are sending a clear signal that NATO will defend all allies against threats. This is NATO's main message and the strength of the alliance," - the TV channel's interlocutor said.
