Police are currently investigating a case in which a motorbike taxi driver was stabbed twice in the chest and hip by two robbers who used knives to rob him.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phuoc (born in 1951, residing in Tra Vinh province, temporarily residing in District 6, Ho Chi Minh City) declared that in the early morning of April 13, he was waiting for customers at the roundabout of Phu Lam park (District 6) when two young men around 30 years old came to ask him to take them to Ten Lua area (Binh Tan district).

When arriving at the intersection of Road 4 and Road 7, in Binh Tri Dong B Ward, Binh Tan District, the two guests asked Mr. Phuoc to lend them his cell phone to call his relatives to ask for the specific address. Mr. Phuoc continued to follow the instructions of the two guests.

Mr. Phuoc was shocked when he recounted the incident.

According to Mr. Phuoc, the further he went, the closer it got to dawn and the less people around him, the more worried he became, but he had to get the fare before going home.

Driving around, two strangers told Mr. Phuoc to stop the car at the intersection of Road 11 and Road 8 in An Lac A Ward, Binh Tan District, and continued to borrow a cell phone to call an acquaintance to ask for directions again. At this point, Mr. Phuoc felt suspicious so he told the two guests to give him money for the ride and not go any further.

However, these two men said they would pay him only after taking him to the destination and would give him extra tips. He had no choice but to follow them. When he reached a dead end, Mr. Phuoc doubtfully decided to turn back.

When he stopped his car, the two men overpowered him and held a knife to his neck. Mr. Phuoc said that he did not resist but begged for mercy, but the two robbers still coldly stabbed him twice in the chest and hip.

After the incident, when working with the police, Mr. Phuoc clearly stated that when he was attacked, he collapsed to the ground and pretended to be dead. The two robbers saw him lying motionless in a pool of blood and immediately took his cell phone and motorbike and fled.

Waiting for the two robbers to leave, Mr. Phuoc got up and crawled out into the street to call for help. A passerby discovered him and took him to the hospital in time for emergency treatment.

After receiving the report, Binh Tan District Police (Ho Chi Minh City) quickly deployed forces to the scene, took witness statements, urgently cordoned off the area and are currently searching for the perpetrator./.
