(Baonghean.vn) - 2016 marks the 75-year glorious history of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers. This is an opportunity for each child and member to look back at the glorious history of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers, and at the same time, it is an opportunity for them to demonstrate their role as good children and good students, good grandchildren of Uncle Ho, to do well the 5 teachings of Uncle Ho, to inherit and promote the tradition of the Young Pioneers, to follow the steps of the Youth Union, to build Nghe An province to become more and more prosperous and civilized.

1- The birth of Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Team.

Immediately after that, on the historic day of May 15, 1941, in Na Ma village, Truong Ha commune, Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province, the first National Salvation Children's Association (now the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers) was established with 5 team members: Nong Van Den (aka Kim Dong) was elected as Team Leader, Nong Van Than (aka Cao Son), Ly Van Tinh (aka Thanh Minh), Ly Thi Ni (aka Thuy Tien), Ly Thi Xau (aka Thanh Thuy). The Communist Party of Vietnam was founded on February 3, 1930. Since then, the movement to fight against imperialism and feudalism under the leadership of the Party has grown increasingly.

In the struggle for independence and freedom, Uncle Ho and the Party always paid attention to the young generation because they were an important force in the national salvation revolution, and just 1 year after its founding, the Party clearly saw the importance of establishing the Youth Union. On March 26, 1931, at the 2nd Conference of the Party Central Committee, a Resolution was issued to establish the Youth Union. Following that, at the 8th Conference of the Party Central Committee in May 1941, the Party Central Committee decided to establish the Viet Minh United Front to fight the French, expel the Japanese, and gain independence and freedom for the Vietnamese people.

From the early days of its establishment until now, following the great revolutionary cause of the Party, beloved Uncle Ho and being in charge of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, in each period, the Team has gone through revolutionary stages with different names:

- 1941: National Children's Salvation Association (later changed to National Children's Salvation Team);

- 1949: August Children's Team.

- February 1950: August Children's Team split into August Children's Team and Young Pioneer Team.

- March 1951: August Children's Team.

- November 4, 1956: Vietnam Young Pioneers Team.

- In response to the wishes of Young Pioneers nationwide, on January 30, 1970, the Party Central Committee decided to name the Young Pioneers and Children's Teams Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers until now.

2- Typical movements of the Team

In February 1948, Uncle Ho sent a letter to children about the content, meaning and organization of the "Tran Quoc Toan Movement" to encourage children to compete in studying and helping their compatriots, first of all the families of soldiers, the lonely, war invalids, martyrs... The movement quickly developed widely.

In March 1951, the National Salvation Youth Union's cadre conference decided to unify the children's force, named it the August Children's Team, and agreed on a number of new policies such as children wearing red scarves, an official song, slogans, ranks, insignia, and organizational structure of the Team.

In 1954, peace was restored, but our country was temporarily divided into two regions. The US imperialists plotted to divide our country and sabotage the Geneva Agreement. From then on, our people, under the leadership of the Party, fought to unify the country and build socialism in the North.

The North was at peace, children were able to go to school. The Team organization developed strongly in hamlets, villages and schools. The Team movements also developed strongly, such as: "For the beloved South", "Visiting the South".

After the 2nd National Congress of the Youth Union, on November 4, 1956, the Team was renamed the Young Pioneer Team. By 1961, children were organized into the August Children's Team.

On December 2, 1958, Uncle Ton Duc Thang - Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 2nd National Assembly wrote a letter welcoming the initiative of children in Hai Phong and Son Tay, requesting the National Assembly and the Government to allow children to start a small-scale planning movement, building the Pioneer Youth Plastic Factory in Hai Phong. On May 30, 1959, the Plastic Factory named after the Team was inaugurated, the Board of Directors presented the delegation of children from the North with 18,000 toys - products of the factory to give to children from the South.

On May 15, 1961, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Team, Uncle Ho advised the children and teenagers 5 things. Since then, the 5 things Uncle Ho taught have become the goals of all Vietnamese children and teenagers.

- Love the Fatherland, love the people

- Study well, work well

- Good solidarity, good discipline

- Keep good hygiene

- Modest, honest and brave

In 1963, the "Thousand Good Deeds" movement of the Team appeared in Tam Son, Ha Bac and developed throughout the localities to become a major movement of the Team until now, with the content: "Speak good words, do good deeds, strive to become good children of Uncle Ho".

On December 20, 1961, the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam was born, the Young Pioneers Organization in the South was established and the movement "Small deeds, big ambitions to fight against America to save the country" of children in the South developed along with the resistance war against America to save the country. Contributing to the resistance war against America to save the country, children in both regions made outstanding achievements.

On April 30, 1975, the Ho Chi Minh Campaign was completely victorious, liberating the South and reunifying the country. In June 1976, the 23rd Central Executive Committee Conference held in Ho Chi Minh City agreed to organize the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team nationwide and proposed that the Party Central Executive Committee give the Team the slogan:"For the socialist Fatherland, for the ideals of great Uncle Ho: Ready!".

In May 2001, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Team, our State decided to award the Gold Star Medal to the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Team. That achievement marked a brilliant milestone in the development path of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Team and generations of Vietnamese children.

Over the past 75 years, the golden pages of the history of the Team and the traditional spirit of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team have become brighter every day. That history and tradition are closely linked to the Vietnamese children's movement and are an inseparable part of the history of the nation, the Party and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

I hope that today's generation of Team members must always actively study and practice well, must overcome difficulties and excel in their studies; they must know how to obey their grandparents, parents, teachers, and seniors, and respect the elderly; at the same time, they must know how to love and help each other to progress together; they must actively participate in movements to build a strong Team organization, and through participating in the movements of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team, they are also studying and practicing to grow up and become good children of Uncle Ho, building our country "more decent and more beautiful" as Uncle Ho always wished for when he was alive.

Peace
