Authorities discovered a facility using chemicals to "transform" rotten meat into fresh-looking meat.
The inspection team confiscated a plastic container of chemicals, which the owner admitted to using to transform rotten meat into fresh-looking meat.
On April 28th, the Environmental Police Department of Binh Phuoc Provincial Police, in coordination with the Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine and the Dong Xoai Town Police, conducted inspections of four establishments trading in animal meat in the area.
The inspection team checked four businesses dealing in animal products, including Ton Nu Minh Nguyet (residing in Thanh Binh neighborhood, Tan Binh ward), Ton That Thanh (residing in Tan Xuan ward), Ton Nu Ai Ly (residing in Tan Thien ward), and Bui Thi Bich Van (residing in Phuoc Thien neighborhood, Tan Thien ward), which were found to be storing over 400 kg of beef and buffalo bones, meat, and offal in five freezers.
Upon inspection, authorities discovered that all the bones, meat, and offal from the cow had changed color, emitted a foul odor, and showed signs of bacterial contamination.
Regarding Ms. Van's meat business, the inspection team discovered evidence of using chemicals to preserve the meat. The team confiscated one plastic container of chemicals. Ms. Van confessed that she bought them at Kim Bien Market (Ho Chi Minh City) to transform rotten meat into fresh-looking meat.

The inspection team requested Vinacontrol Environmental Consulting and Assessment Joint Stock Company to collect food samples for analysis and assessment as a basis for taking strict action in accordance with regulations.
